Lone Star VO Workouts are peer-to-peer workouts. Feel free to bring your favorite improv games/exercises. We will be doing group exercises and working in pairs.

About your instructor: Pearl Hewitt is a two-time Voice Arts Award finalist and won an Independent Audiobook 2019 and multiple IAAIS awards 2009-2017. She’s been a voice actor since 2007 focusing on full-time audiobook narration and producing since 2012. She has since voiced over 200 titles for numerous publishers and best-selling authors across many genres. Originally from northeast England, Pearl has lived in Houston, Texas since 2001 but still brands herself as a British narrator. 130 of her books are currently available at Audible, Amazon and iTunes

Intro to Voiceover

Starting on Tuesday, July 14, 2020

Join us for a beginner voiceover workshop presented by Lone Star VO.
Night 1 focuses on the Business of Voiceover. Do you know what it takes to make voiceover a full time job? Find out what it takes to turn your voice acting “hobby” into a real career! Learn about different genres, agents, home studios, demos, coaching, branding and common mistakes to avoid when you are getting started in voiceover.
Night 2 focuses on Voiceover Performance. Now that you know about all the different genres available in voiceover, let’s take some time to explore how to read for each of those genres. We’ll learn the difference between an announcery automotive read, a conversational TV ad, an educational eLearning read and many more! Students will get a chance to read scripts and be directed in this performance based workshop.
